The Challenge

Our objective with this project was twofold: to radically boost heat recovery and efficiency through sustainable refrigeration practices, and to smoothly integrate extensive capacities for chilling, freezing, and heating, all the while preserving user-friendly operation and maintenance processes.

The Solution

We conceived, supervised, and executed the installation of a CO₂ transcritical plant. Operating above the critical point of CO₂, these systems exhibit an outstanding heat rejection capacity at much higher temperatures compared to conventional systems - offering tremendous heat recovery potential and impressive energy savings. Holding over 6 tonnes of CO₂ refrigerant, this system is a powerhouse delivering:

• 2,190 kW of chill capacity
• 560 kW of freezer capacity
• 1,130 kW of heating all in one potent solution

To ensure operational simplicity and efficient maintenance, we applied uniform racks and introduced a direct expansion system for both low and medium temperature systems.

The Implementation

This project was no small feat; it required rigorous planning and management, stretching from the drawing board right up to the commissioning phase. Our expert team dedicated their skills to ensure every detail of the CO₂ transcritical plant was accurately engineered and installed, perfectly aligning with RDC Mullingar's operational prerequisites and sustainability goals.
